COCO BY MUT DESIGN
AMES LIVING, 2023

AMES LIVING
Product
2023
The starting point of the collection was Ames’s exceptional fabrics used in the manufacture of hammocks. We have developed a way of weaving in which by just modifying one thread in the weft, we managed to create different nuances of colour and levels of depth. Our intention was designing an outdoor seating collection that would be upholstered with this fabrics. Coco is genuinely geometrical in its conception but thanks to its smooth edges and the fact that all seams are thoroughly hidden, we have softened its apparent harshness to make it welcoming, kind and comfortable.

In this project, my involvement extended to both the 3D development and design of the collection, as well as the creation of the textile pattern and the selection of colors.
